Either way, Skeletor would be greatly changed from his former self the next time he appeared in the series. It could turn him into a cyborg, or kill him and leave him a mindless slave to the Motherboard (and, presumably, Hordak).
This creature injected Skeletor with some sort of virus. The episode quickly ended after that, leaving it unclear what exactly this virus would do to Skeletor.
